Trust & safety

We verify what can be verified, and we are honest about what cannot. Here is exactly what each badge means.

What we verify

  • Identity

Government ID matched to a selfie before anyone sells.

  • Kitchen permit

A valid home-kitchen permit on file, re-checked at expiry.

  • Payout account

A verified bank account through Stripe, so money is traceable.

What we don't verify

Verification is not a guarantee. A home kitchen is not a commercial one, and you should order accordingly.

  • We check that a permit exists and is valid. We do not inspect kitchens ourselves.
  • We don't rate taste - that's what reviews are for.
  • A home kitchen handles many foods in one space. We cannot certify any dish free of cross-contamination.
  • We don't lab-test nutrition. Chef figures are estimates.

Severe allergies

If a mistake could send you to hospital, message the chef before ordering and decide for yourself. We surface allergens, but a home kitchen cannot guarantee their absence.

Home-kitchen permits, in plain terms

Selling food cooked at home usually requires some form of registration with the local health or municipal authority, rather than a full commercial-kitchen licence.

What's required - and what's allowed - varies by region and changes over time. Always check what applies where you cook.

DINERO requires a valid permit on file before anyone can sell, and adds its own checks on top.

This is a general summary, not legal advice. Requirements vary by region and change over time.

Cooking live

Many chefs stream their kitchen while they cook. What you see is live, not a recording.

It's optional for chefs, but the ones who do it tend to earn more trust - and more orders.

  • Streams are never saved or replayed.
  • No customer is ever on camera.
  • A chef can stop streaming anytime.

How your money is protected

  1. 1

    Held, not charged

At checkout your card is authorised. Nothing is taken until the chef accepts.

  2. 2

    Charged on accept

When the chef confirms they'll cook it, the payment is captured.

  3. 3

    Released after delivery

The chef is paid 48 hours after delivery, leaving room to resolve any issue.

If a chef never accepts, you're never charged. Full stop.
